NECA Pledges to Work with Dept. of Energy to Advance Responsible Energy Policy Goals

In his remarks to a joint session of Congress President Obama announced yesterday that supporting energy independence will be a critical aspect of his first budget and a policy priority for his Administration. Today, the association’s CEO John M. Grau formally notified Energy Secretary Stephen Chu about NECA’s work on the issues facing the Administration and Congress. “The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act was a great first step towards increasing our national investment in responsible energy projects,” Grau said. “Now we need to carry that commitment through our regulatory and tax policies.”

NECA Speaks in Support of New Economic Stimulus Legislation on Capital Hill

The National Electrical Contractors Association Director of Legislative Affairs, Terry Hatch, represented the electrical construction industry at a press event hosted by Americans United for Change. The proposed legislation includes building construction projects, incentives for investing in renewable and efficient energy solutions, and repeal of the three percent withholding tax, all endorsed by NECA.

Solar Electrical Contractor Sheds Light on the Need for Building Investment in Economic Stimulus

The U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Small Business heard testimony from Tim Ehmann, an electrical contractor specializing in solar installation and member of the National Electrical Contractors Association, on the importance of including energy-efficient building projects in proposed economic stimulus legislation.
