Custom Manufacturing versus Mass Production: When Quality Is Key

With every project there are numerous fresh obstacles to avoid. The burgeoning enthusiasm lays waste to the inevitable restrictions laid on by mass production.

What about the projects the test our limits, toy with our wits and tug at our budgets? While it is not without its benefits, mass production, can restrain the true potential of a project; eliminating the human element, suffocating needs and possibly cutting down on the longevity of use. With this in mind, whether building power distribution equipment, metal buildings or industrial control panels, there are certain projects that require a custom manufacturer that initiates creative solutions and untamed thought in addition to the ability to push through lead times

Human Element:
Mass production is mainly research driven.  Products are pushed through production based on a recipe put in place by past manufactures.  What about the vision? With custom fabrication the customer has a voice.  It allows room for you to put your stamp on the project, whether that is with custom NVOC powder coating or custom wiring for industrial components.

Flexible Needs:
The world, along with its technology, is demanding more. Our needs are evolving along with us becoming smarter and more complex.  In this case, mass produced items may cut down the price tag, but at what cost? An impulse purchase may end up eating up the budget in the long run by needing to be replaced with more suitable technology for growing needs.

Longevity:
Many factors are taken into consideration when manufacturing equipment including life span.  You need to consider how long is appropriate not only for budgetary reasons, but for safety as well.  Certain environments are harsher than others, therefore, the best fabrication for use and durability, may not be what has been considered standard.  For example, traffic monitoring equipment on the Eisenhower tunnel needs to be able to withstand inclement weather at 11,000 feet above sea level.
